Diagnostic findings
What inspection and testing revealed
A failed check valve inside the water pump allowed city water to backfeed into the fresh-water tank. The replacement pump was a different size and would not fit in the original location.

Installed the customer-supplied replacement pump and relocated it near the front of the wet bay with clearance and future service access.
